Chief Medical Officer

Currently Professor Luis Vitetta BSc (Hons) PhD, Grad Dip Appl Sci Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, Grad Dip Appl Sci Integrative Medicine, is a clinical researcher with The University of Sydney Faculty of Medicine and Health.

Luis has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer for the Medlab Group, an appointment providing him with immense satisfaction, given the research direction the company has decided to take that aligns with his core research capabilities.

Luis has extensive expertise in clinical trial design and conduct, with participation in +50 clinical studies as a principal investigator or associate principal investigator with over 300 peer-reviewed publications, with a Scopus H-index of 46.

He has research interests in ageing relevant to the gut microbiome, mucosal immunity and senescence and pro-oxidant signalling systems and mitochondrial function and muscle mass preservation.

Luis has an active life with family, jogging, kite surfing and the love of blue water sailing.  One day, he hopes to own his own boat.
